Zina Rose Obituary

Zina Mae Bussard Rose, 87, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 4, 2021. She was born September 21, 1933, the eldest of four children, to Homer and Virgie Bussard. She was delivered by her grandmother, Ethel Hawkins, a mid-wife, in Nixa, MO. She attended and graduated from Clever High School, where she was active in the choir. She participated in many choir competitions and was known for her lovely singing voice. After high school, she attended Draughon's Business College and began her 30-year career in banking and finance with Union National and Empire State Banks of Springfield, MO. and Yukon National and Stockyards Bank, Oklahoma City. Zina retired as the cash office manager for Walmart Inc., Oklahoma City.

Zina married her husband, William Wallace Rose, on August 6, 1954 and raised five children. After retiring, Zina enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and cooking for her church, Tulakes Baptist Church in Bethany, Okla. She was a wonderful cook and known for her Blackberry Dumplings, Banana Pudding, and her Blue Ribbon Peanut Brittle. She became a life-long Cardinals fan after attending her first Cardinal's game at Bush Stadium with her high school class. She also loved watching OSU and Thunder Basketball, and Greenbay Packers football games.

Zina was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Rose; parents, Homer and Virgie Bussard; brother, Johnny James Bussard; sister-in-law, Regina Rose; and brother and sister-in-law Ron and Ruth Wyatt. Zina is survived by her five children, Stephen Lee Rose and wife Jeri of Mustang, Connie Sue Warsop-Ali and husband Ali of Oklahoma City, Lisa Ann Horn and husband Stan, Michael Wayne Rose, and William Joseph "Joe" Rose and wife Angela all of Yukon; brother, Howard Bussard and wife, Ann of Aurora, MO; sister, Brenda Bussard Speer and husband Kenny of Harrisonville, MO; sister-in-law Anna Marie Bussard of Springfield, MO; brother-in-law, Lloyd Rose of Rockwood, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, March 11, 2021, from 10:00 AM-7:00 PM with the family available from 5:00-7:00 PM at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary in Yukon. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, March 12, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary with interment at Yukon Cemetery. A dinner will be served at Cimarron Fields Event Center, Yukon, Okla., immediately following the graveside service.
