Thelma "Yvonne" Wilson-Evans passed away on October 10, 2025, in Yukon, Oklahoma at the age of 73. Yvonne was born to parents Betty and Troy Detamore July 8, 1952 in Van Nuys, California.
Yvonne was raised in Oklahoma City where she attended school graduating with the Crooked Oak High School class of 1970. She went on to attend Rose State College to become an x ray technician. From there she studied at both the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University where she earned her bachelors degree.
Yvonne married Daniel Wilson and soon after was blessed with her only son Troy Daniel Wilson. Their mother and son bond was strong from the beginning. Yvonne would purchase comic books to teach Troy how to read. Throughout his life, she was his biggest cheerleader. As he grew into adulthood, Yvonne and Troy became best friends to one another.
Yvonne worked as a Radiation Therapist for nearly 30 years. She was loved by her co-workers and had a work ethic that was second to none. She was known for speaking her mind, being a loyal friend, and someone others could count on.
Yvonne met David Evans in 2002 while both were working at Integris Southwest Medical Center. The two married November 26, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They loved traveling to tropical locations sharing 21 cruises together. Aside from traveling, the two could be found spending time at the casino in their spare time. Yvonne was a wonderful cook who was happiest cooking meals for her family.
Thelma "Yvonne" Wilson-Evans is survived by her husband Dave Evans; son Troy Wilson and wife Kristi; sister Yvette McCready; nephew Sean Davidson; niece Crystal McCready; cousin Tracie Palmer; chosen son Shane Palmer; along with great niece, nephews, and many friends who loved her dearly.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents Betty and Troy Detamore; grandson Brendan Kyle Wilson; and husband Daniel Wilson.
