Yvonne Dees was born August 13th, 1929, in her country home 6 miles from Eakly, Oklahoma. She grew up to marry Paul Leon Dees, Sr. on September 13th, 1947, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Three years later she gave birth to her one of a kind son Paul Leon Dees, Jr. They raised him and ran a peanut farm at her home in Hydro, Oklahoma.
She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for several years and was a missionary for her church where she went to Haiti to help people find God. As a pianist, she helped lead the choir in all the churches she attended. She spent a lot of her extra time quilting, playing dominos, and golfing with her friends and family.
She had the biggest heart and a deep love for music and the Lord. Yvonne had a beautiful voice; she was always singing her hymns. Yvonne wrote that her vision for her life would be for her family to all be saved, full of the Holy Spirit and under the blessing of Abraham; to be in divine health, full of wisdom, and have power to walk with God. Yvonne was 90 years old when she went to be with the Lord.
Yvonne is survived by her sister Colene Johnson; her granddaughters Kim Kennedy and Angie Wood; her sister-in-law Vonnye Elkins; her nieces Carol Elkins Stanfield, Jeannie Elkins Brown, and Kenda Elkins Horne; her great-grandchildren Paige Cordova, Dylan Guerra, Dakota Guerra, Danielle Adams, Chase Wood, Hannah Wood, and Zoey Wood; and three great-great-grandchildren Noah Trask, Decklen Cordova Ingmire, and Carter Young. Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband Paul Dees, Sr., her son Paul Dees, Jr., and brother Boynton Wesnidge.
