William Roy "Bill" Johnston walked into the arms of Jesus on April 17, 2020, at the age of 62. He was surrounded by loving family and friends.
Bill was born on May 20, 1957, in Litchfield, Illinois; the son of Derl and Alberta (Carriker) Johnston. He met the love of his life, Dianna Johnston, and they were married on April 5, 2007. They were blessed to have two children together. Bill has a total of 8 children, including Dianna's son whom he loved and claimed as his own, and 18 grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by both parents, Deryl and Alberta Johnston. He is survived by his wife Dianna Johnston and their two children, Matthew and Heather Johnston, of Calumet, Oklahoma; Christopher Greenlee of Texas; Kyle & Ariel Johnston; Jennifer Badillo, Craig & Rebecca Johnston; Daniel & Paul Johnston of Indiana; sisters Janet Yard and Shirley Pate; and brother Jim Johnston of Illinois.
Bill was a Christian with a very strong faith. He loved the Lord with all of his heart and it shined through to everyone. He went to college where he earned a degree in Theology and became a Pastor. Recently, he was a Youth Pastor and Sunday school leader, where he guided many young people in the ways of the Lord. He also worked at OKC Tarp and Supply in Oklahoma City where he made many friends. Bill also had a love for his woodworking and fishing.
Throughout Bill's life he was known for the love he had for the Lord, his family, and others. He always had a smile on his face and gave a kind and encouraging word to others. He was always willing to help anyone in any way he could.
He said his desire through his illness was that God would show Himself through this, whether He healed him here or in Heaven. His personal desire was that God would heal him here on earth, so he could serve Him more. However, God had other plans and needed him in Heaven.
His legacy will live on through those who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed
Bill's celebration of life service will be held April 22, 2020 at 2 pm in a private service at Ingram, Smith and Turner Mortuary in Yukon, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at the El Reno Cemetery in El Reno, Oklahoma. A recording of the service has been made available on the website.
