William "Bill" Bateman passed away October 30th, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Bill was 90 years old. He was born in Marlow, OK, Bill was raised on the family farm. He was the first person in his family to go to college. Bill earned a business degree from Oklahoma A&M in 1956, which became OSU the next year. He was a life-long supporter of OSU. After college, Bill was drafted into the Army where he served for 4 years. Following the Army, he worked for a time at Apco Oil. When Apco decided to leave Oklahoma, Bill received his real estate license and later a broker's license, spending 45 years as a realtor and real estate broker, helping countless people to buy and sell their houses.
Bill was always active at his church; he and Lynn recently joined the newly formed Crossroads Church in Mustang. He enjoyed working as a trustee, helping to keep the building and property maintained. Bill was a member of the Masons for over 50 years, earning his 32nd and 33rd degrees. He was a member of Lodge #90 and was also a Shriner.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn; son, Randy Bateman and spouse Marcy and his daughter Nikki; son Monte Bateman and spouse Jean, their sons James and John; daughter, Ginger Cookson and spouse Paul, and their daughter Helena; step-son, Ronnie and spouse Terri Robertson, their children Jake and Lacee; great-grandchildren Riley and Lyndlee; step-daughter Kathy and spouse Mike Hale, grandson Jarod and spouse Kendra, great-grandchildren Josiah, Lydiah, Alexandriah, and Macaiah; grandson Nicolas and spouse Tasha, great-grandchildren Paislee and Maddox; step-daughter Kelye and spouse David Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Bateman, Sr and Vivvel Bateman, and his three siblings: James Bateman, Jr, Loretta Singleton, Maxine Gaynor, and grandson Joshua Robertson.
A Memorial Service to honor Bill's life will be held Thursday November, 7th, 2024 at 2:00PM at Crossroads Mustang Church. Bill loved life and he loved helping people. He knew everyone and he never met a stranger. He was always a faithful servant.
