Wanda Vivian (Strandberg) Nissen

Wanda Vivian Nissen, age 96, passed to eternal rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 23, 2020. She was born on June 14, 1924, to Fred and Viola Standberg of Minot, North Dakota.

Wanda was the oldest of 6 children; brothers Edward, Robert, Fritjof, Richard and sister Delores. After high school graduation, she married the love of her life Vernon Orrin Nissen, Sr. on February 1, 1943. She was a homemaker, baker of sweets and a nurse’s assistant at 2 hospitals. She had 3 children; daughters Diana Thompson, Carol Clugston, and son Vernon O. Nissen, Jr.

Wanda loved the challenge of many table games and was the first to set down and the last to get up from the game. Wanda was a devoted Christian woman all her life. She loved selflessly and unconditionally, she truly loved others as only Christ could. She was a wife, mother of 3, grandmother of 10, great-grandmother of 16, and a great great-grandmother of 13 and Aunt to many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, 2 brothers and numerous other family members.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, August 29th, 2020 at 1:00 PM in Battleview, North Dakota.
