Vincent Meyer Obituary

Vincent George Paul Meyer passed into Eternal Life on December 5, 2024, from home in Mustang, OK. Vincent was born on December 24, 1931, in Glennonville, Missouri, to Teresa (Ronspiez) and Paul Meyer. Vincent had three siblings: Victor Meyer, Louise (Meyer) Fuxa, and Gerald Sigl.
Tragically, in 1933 Vincent's father died in a fire in Missouri, precipitating the family's move to Oklahoma. Eventually, at an early age, Vincent, his brothers, and sister went into St. Joseph's orphanage in Bethany, Oklahoma, where Vincent lived until he fudged about his age to join the Army National Guard.
Vincent honorably served the United States of America in the Army National Guard for 5 years and the United States Air Force for 20 years. During his career, Vincent deployed three times to Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. He also served in Japan, Spain, and Germany, as well as several U.S. bases, along with side missions abroad. Vincent retired as a Master Sergeant. He then moved his family to Oklahoma and worked for the U.S. Postal service for 25 years. Before and after retirement, Vincent loved working in his woodshop, making hundreds of crucifixes, and other religious articles, along with secular articles that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends.
Vincent's lifetime achievement was his family, including his 64-year marriage to Dolores Mae (Kastl) Meyer; two children, Christopher Jerome Meyer (along with his wife, Virginia Ann Meyer)and Kimberly Michele (Meyer) Steele (along with her husband, Christopher Thomas Steele); four grandchildren, Diana Catherine (Steele) Jones, Emily Rose (Meyer) Apollonio, Celeste Nicole Meyer, and Jacob Paul Meyer; and three great-grandchildren, Michael Merola, Caiden Merola, and Paityn Apollonio.
Acquaintances, friends, and family will remember Vincent for his devout faith, hard work, indomitable spirit, sacrificial love, and appreciation for a clean-shaven face. During the last few months, Excell Home Care & Hospice provided loving palliative care.
