Timothy Morgan Obituary

"Take me to your heart, feel me in your bones, just one more night, and I'm coming off this long and winding road." These are words from the song, "Home Sweet Home" by Motley Crue, one of Tim's favorite bands. If you look deeply enough into the lyrics of their songs, there is something profound being said. It's the same with Timothy Lee Morgan. Take a look into his life and you'll find many things that were profound, important, and you'll find a life worthy of celebrating.

When you run cross country in High School, you learn endurance, and that is a very valuable lesson to learn in life. Tim not only ran cross county, he also set two records that stood for 30 years: one for the 400 individual and another for the 2-mile relay. He lived his life in ways which he passed down as valuable lessons to his daughters.

Tim was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma on December 28, 1965, to his parents Lester and Doris Morgan. He grew up in El Reno, Oklahoma, graduated from Yukon High School in 1984 and studied at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. His high school loves were track and field and his 1973 Dodge Charger. Tim loved muscle cars and was known to have left quite a bit of rubber on the streets of Yukon. While in High School, he worked at the Yukon movie theater which became one of his regular stops on the rounds he made through the town. For the past 21 years, Tim worked in the distribution center at Hobby Lobby.

If there was a concert in town, you would probably find Tim there. His love for music was contagious. He saw KISS in concert 9 times. When he wasn't at a live performance, he listened to music by 38 Special, Journey, Motley Crue, and Warrant, just to name a few of his favorite bands. Working at the movie theater gave Tim the movie bug. His favorites were "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," "Jumanji," "ShawShank Redemption" and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." When someone he knew worked at the movie theater, he made regular stops for some free popcorn and a Dr. Pepper. For the last 7 years, Tim struggled with health issues and the life lesson he modeled for his children was, "When you fall down, get back up."

Tim is survived by his three daughters, Katherine and her husband Aaron Watts, Sierra and her husband John Nguyen, and Samantha Morgan and her longtime boyfriend Jacob Lopez, along with 3 grandchildren, Grayson Nguyen, and Rylee and Haylee Watts.
