Susan Wood Obituary

Susan Gail Wood, age 80, entered her eternal paradise on April 16, 2025, in Yukon, Oklahoma-the very same date her father passed 27 years before.

Susan was a woman of remarkable strength, elegance, and grace. She was the daughter of Lola Violet Fisher and John Orville Fisher, and was preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Betty Fern Tucker and Phyllis Bonewell. Her heart endured great loss with the passing of her cherished son, Kenneth Leon Wood II-a pain she carried with unwavering courage and faith.

A devoted wife of 62 years, Susan and her husband, Ken, embodied a love that was deep, lasting, and inspiring-true soulmates who built a life of commitment, laughter, and partnership.

She was an extraordinary mother and an even more extraordinary "Mimi," known for her quick wit, boundless love, and fierce dedication to her family.

Susan was a hardworking and successful professional for 34 years, with the majority of those years spent working for the United States Postal Service. During that time, she also made some lifelong friends who remained close and dear to her heart. She was a true representation of the dream of having it all and doing it all-balancing
a thriving career while remaining the heart and soul of her family. Her work ethic, intelligence, and determination were evident in everything she did, both at work and at home.

A devoted Christian, Susan was a longtime and faithful member of St. Luke's Methodist Church. Her faith was a guiding force in her life and a source of strength.

She loved traveling and cruising the world (with Italy holding a special place in her heart). Intelligent and strong-willed, Susan was a financial wizard and a creative spirit-a skilled seamstress and a master quilter whose hands brought beauty and warmth into the world. Her love of music was matched only by her ability to bring joy and humor to every room she entered.

Susan's legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she loved, and the countless memories that will continue to bring comfort and smiles for generations to come.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Wood; her daughter, Kerri Hoffman, and her husband, Chris; her cherished grandchildren, Mason Meier (Angela), Ryleigh Meier, Hannah Hoffman, and Ryan Hoffman (Kristen). She is also survived by her oldest sister, Kay Patton, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended
family.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday, April 25th at 10 o'clock in the morning at St. Luke's Methodist Church, 222 NW 15th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73103.
