Shirley McIntyre was born July 27, 1935 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Jewell and Claude Reese. She passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Shirley grew up in Hobart, Oklahoma where she played basketball and was a cheerleader in high school. She moved to Oklahoma City and was working for an insurance company when she met James at Hollie's Drive In. She was married to the love of her life, James McIntyre for 69 years. From that union came one daughter Kerri Stockstill and one son Bret McIntyre. She had five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Shirley lived most of her young adult life in Oklahoma City, until she and James moved their family to Tuttle, Oklahoma in 1973. Shirley was a great wife, mom and homemaker. She spent countless hours driving her children to band, football practice and all their other activities. She became a proud and devoted grandma in 1985. After retirement she and James moved to Lake Texoma to live the lake life. She enjoyed family time at the lake, especially the Fourth of July parades and celebrations. Shirley loved her time with grandchildren, enjoying their summers in the water and holidays decorating Christmas cookies. Her family also often requested she make her delicious Angel biscuits, oatmeal cookies and homemade peach ice cream.
