Saundra Sue (Poindexter) Yarbrough

Saundra Sue Yarbrough, 85, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, in Yukon, Oklahoma. Born on August 3, 1939, in Gage, Oklahoma, she was the second of five daughters of Raymond Dorn and Lola Raye Poindexter.

A devoted Christian, Saundra was a longtime member of the Church of Christ, most recently a member of South Yukon Church of Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she found great joy and spiritual nourishment in attending church services, her ladies Bible class, and ladies luncheons. She lived her faith daily: with grace, humility, and quiet strength.

Saundra was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ernie. She is survived by her four children: Elizabeth Vaughn and husband Tim, Rachele Perdue and husband Tom, Phillip Yarbrough, and Marla Winikka. She was the proud grandmother of Kaitlin, Connor, Thomas, Emily, Laura (and husband Adam), and Brian. She cherished every moment spent with them: always eager to hear their stories, celebrate their accomplishments, and offer her steady encouragement and love.

Known for her thoughtfulness, Saundra made a point to send cards to her friends and family for every occasion, big or small. She found joy in putting others before herself and had a heart that gave freely and generously. Her strength was evident not only in her steadfast faith but also in the grace with which she faced health challenges later in her life. 

Saundra's gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and loving presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her. Her life will be honored on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 10 AM at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at the Shattuck Cemetery.
