Sarah Louise Galloway, a beloved wife, mother, and dedicated cook, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2023, at the age of 85 in Yukon, OK. She was born on March 7, 1938, in Thayer, MO, to her loving parents Erivin "Doc" Ingram and Opal Blankenship Ingram, who have preceded her in death. She met Russell Galloway while working at Western Electric and they married in 1973 and were married for almost 50 years before his passing in March of this year. Sarah's passing came as a great loss to her family, and friends. Born prematurely at home in a time when infant mortality was a very real threat, she survived by being placed in a shoe box and warmed by bricks from the stove. She grew into a caring older sibling to her 2 sisters and 3 brothers. At the age of 12 she again defied medical odds when she overcame Rheumatic fever. The fever took her memory and physical abilities and she had to learn to walk and talk all over again and had to start her schooling all over again. Her fighting spirit served her well all her life, and she was kind and compassionate to all those who experienced pain and suffering and children bullied in school for their abilities.
Sarah was a woman of warmth, kindness, and compassion. She dedicated her life to providing nourishment not only to her own family but also to the students of Grace Christian Academy, where she worked as a cook for many years. Her delectable dishes brought joy and smiles to the faces of countless children, who greatly appreciated her amazing talents in the kitchen. She was famous with the kids for her amazing cinnamon rolls and classmates of Sarah and Pam sitll talk about how good those cinnamon rolls were.
Sarah is survived by her two daughters, Sarah Warren and husband Everett Warren and Pamela Galloway Douglas and husband Jay Douglas, who will forever be grateful for the love, guidance, and support their mother provided throughout their lives. Sarah is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Kade Ingram, Rachel and Rebekah Stuck, and Eilidh Warren. She is also survived by her last remaining sibling, Irene Spoor and her husband Hollis, and countless nieces and nephews.
A Viewing and Visitation will be held on Friday December 8,2023 from 4:00PM-8:00PM. The Funeral Service in celebration of Sarah's life will be held on December 9, 2023, at the Ingram, Smith & Turner in Yukon, OK. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in a peaceful burial at the Rocky Cemetery in Rocky, OK, next to Russell and surrounded by the beauty of nature.
