Sandra Tatum Obituary

Sandra Lynn Tatum of Union City took her heavenly flight on Thursday, November 6, 2025, to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her parents, brother, and the many who have gone before her.

A celebration of life will be held 10 am Friday, November 14, 2025, at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary, in Yukon, Oklahoma. Pastor Eric Stock and her nephew, Kory Bollinger will be officiating the service. A reception gathering for family and friends will follow. Interment will be at Union City Cemetery.

Sandra was born December 13, 1948, to Thorold (TJ) & Alice Bollinger in Union City. Raised on Riverview Farm, west of Union City, she graduated from Union City High School in 1967 and from Central State University in 1970.

On August 7, 1970, she married the love of her life, Gary Tatum. In their 55 years of marriage, they lovingly raised two children, Amber & Andy, served in church together, built two houses, took numerous trips with family and friends, and spent many Friday nights with the "Domino Gang".
Sandra delighted in being YaYa to her precious grandsons, Easton & Ayden. She prayed fervently for her family and anyone else who came her way. Her greatest desire was to see lost people saved and Christians serving the Lord.

Sandra enjoyed working as the secretary at Union City High School for 21 years. She invested much time and care in the students and remembered them long after they graduated. She was an avid bird watcher who marveled at all of God's creation. Her piano students and the ladies in her Sunday school class can attest that Sandra also possessed the gift of teaching and consistently used that gift to bless others.

She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Union City where she served as pianist, Sunday school teacher, VBS Director, and Mission Committee Chairperson. Her hospitality, thoughtfulness, wisdom, and generosity impacted countless lives. Sandra loved traveling. Whether it was a faraway destination or just taking the back roads to town, Sandra loved "taking the long way around the world and taking it real slow." She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Thorold and Alice Bollinger; brother Scott Bollinger; great-niece Jensyn Breshears; father and mother-in-law Delbert and Lavonne Tatum; and sister-in-law Sherry Lopez.

Sandra is survived by her husband Gary Tatum; daughter Amber Tatum; son Andy Tatum; grandsons, Easton and Ayden; sister-in-law Martha Bollinger; niece Kari Breshears, husband Andy, and son Beau; nephew Kory Bollinger and wife Sarah; niece Karli Ross, husband Charlie, and daughters Finnleigh and Clementine; niece Kayli McKee, husband Craig and sons, Toby and Tennyson; niece Kami Shackleford, husband Scott, and daughters Zoey, Emma, and Sayler; nephew, Kolby Bollinger, wife Hannah ,and son Robbie; niece Kynzi Young, husband Dillon and daughters Harper and Summer; nephew Kyler Bollinger, wife Haley, and children Lillian, Grayson, Bryson, and Evelyn; niece Kwyn Weaver, husband Brent, and children Ralph and Rose; nephews Kade Bollinger and Kolton Bollinger; nephew Eric Scott; and a host of special cousins and friends.
