Rose Marie (Phelps) McKeen, 93, of Yukon, was born on September 2, 1930 in Muscatine, Iowa and went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2024. Rose and husband, John, were married on May 12, 1952 and had three children: Joan, John and Robert. The family moved often, residing in various towns in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma until 1973 when they put down roots in Yukon, Oklahoma. Rose's love for her family was unparalleled. She often expressed this through time spent with them, the care she provided, and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures. Rose provided care for several families' children that she loved like her own after her children were grown. Her Christian faith was very important to her and was evident through her actions. She was always humble, selfless, and devoted to serving others.
Rose is survived by her: brothers, Paul Phelps, Ed Phelps and wife Mary; sons, John I. McKeen and wife Mary, Robert McKeen and wife Cindy; son-in-law, John Williams; grandchildren, Kristina Pollard and husband Kyle, Vicki Baker and husband Joseph, Rickey Lawson, Amy Chase and husband Andy, Sandra Farmer and husband Shannon, Quincy Lawson and wife Glenda, Teri Wyatt and husband Michael, Heather McKeen, Amanda Selig and husband Gary; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her: husband, John R. McKeen; daughter, Joan Williams; biological mother, Atala Macklin Phelps; and parents, Bessie Mae and Irvin Phelps.
Rose walked through life with a gentle strength. Her legacy is one of unwavering devotion to her family. Her memory will be treasured forever as we hold her close in our hearts. The life of Rose Marie McKeen will be remembered privately in the presence of close family.
