Ronald Bruce Delp, affectionately known as "Bruce" to all who were blessed to know him, passed from this earth and entered his eternal, Heavenly home on October 28, 2025 at the age of 64. While we recognize the passing of this remarkable man, the influence he had on those whose lives he touched will remain enduring. With each interaction, Bruce created a safe and welcoming space for others to trust him with their story. Because of this special gift, a stranger walked away as a friend.
On September 23, 1961, proud parents Bill and Wynema Delp welcomed their second son, Ronald Bruce, to their growing family while stationed at a military base in Augsburg, Germany. Moving back to Oklahoma, Bruce spent his childhood with his two brothers, Chris and Brian, developing his character and often using humor in his daily life. Sports also built a foundation in Bruce's life, as he helped lead the Putnam City High School football team to a state championship.
A strong relationship was formed between Bruce and Sheryl Owens while attending Central State University (now UCO). They dedicated their lives to each other in January 1983 and continued to support each other through the challenges and successes of life over the next 42 years. Following their union, they soon added three beloved girls: Vanessa, Lauren, and Rachel. Their childhood is created of special memories like board game nights, family vacations, laughing at comedy shows, or anything sports related.
Bruce's interest in sports was reflected in his enthusiastic support for baseball games, OU football games (especially those against Texas), and his active participation in golf as both a player and spectator. Those games were even more enjoyable when he celebrated alongside family or friends in his own home, and in-person at the stadium.
Bruce's personality and character were rooted deep in faith, tradition, and professional intelligence. His constant dedication to his career was a testament to his integrity. Through many different company names and owners, he remained a faithful employee at Southwest Solutions Group for over 38 years. He saw his position not as a "sales" position, but rather a key figure in creating lasting relationships and solving problems for his clients. They trusted him to create the best storage solutions for their individual companies and knew they could count on him for more than just his job requirements. Bruce found his job fulfilling and considered it integral to his identity. Bruce also enjoyed connecting with people from all industries and sharing his knowledge. He was a lifetime member of the Professional Businessman's Association and served in various officer positions including Secretary and President.
Bruce Delp was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Wynema Delp, and grandson Eamon Orr.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife Sheryl Delp; daughters Vanessa Delp, Lauren Delp, and Rachel and her husband Derek Orr; and siblings Chris Delp, and Brian and wife Susan Delp. Additional family members include nephew Ben Delp and niece Danielle Rhodes; brother-in-law Mark Owens; nephew Andrew Owens and wife Alyssa Owens (and children Audrey, Alivia, Augustus, and Amelia Owens); sister-in-law Lisa Pease and wife Pam Pease; nieces Alyssa Miller and husband Matt Miller (and children Meryn and Finnley Miller), and Carli Welker; and various other extended family and friends.
Bruce's life will be celebrated on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary (201 E Main St, Yukon, OK 73099). Public visitation with a catered reception will take place from 11 AM- 1 PM, Celebration of Life Service at 2 PM with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
As we celebrate the extraordinary life of Bruce Delp, let us remember him as a man filled with love, laughter, and adventure-whose spirit will forever illuminate our hearts. Rest in peace, Bruce, knowing you are deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
