Robert Weinmeister Obituary

Oklahoma City, OK - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Leslie Weinmeister on January 1, 2024, at the age of 89. Born in Okeene, Oklahoma on December 14, 1934, a place that instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity that defined him.

Robert's journey began in a small town, but his talents and ambitions soon propelled him to greater heights. He pursued a drafting degree with Oklahoma State University but was drafted into the Army during his third semester. He served as signals operator in Lebanon, and Germany. He also played steel guitar at many events during his tour. After his stint in the Army, he pursued a career as a residential designer and technical illustrator, working in both the housing and airline industries and with Gulfstream Aerospace.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Robert was a loving and devoted husband to Lillie Weinmeister, his beloved wife of 60 years. They shared a deep bond, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Robert's commitment to family extended to his sons, Channing and Scott, whom he raised with unwavering love and support.

Robert had a knack for creating things, and one of his most significant projects was the family home. He designed it himself over 50 years ago, and it is still the place they call home today. But he did not stop at just designing it; he built most of the furniture too. He had an eye for contemporary style, and it showed in everything he made, from the bedroom furniture to the kitchen cabinets. Their house was not just a structure; it was a showcase of his skill.

Robert and Lillie spent a lot of time working on both the front and back yards. The back yard became an oasis of flowers, desert plants, fishpond, essentially a Japanese garden. There were several sitting areas where you could relax and just look at how amazing everything looked. The front yard was always like a putting green, and most of the kids on the block would gather for football, hacky sack, or the extensive volleyball games during 4th of July get togethers.

Robert's honesty and integrity were a staple to his character. His humor and gentle spirit brought comfort to those around him, and his generosity knew no bounds.
Words cannot fully capture the magnitude of the loss we feel, but we take solace in knowing that Bob is with Glory in Heaven. Robert's memory will live on through the affectionate stories shared by family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his loving parents, John Weinmeister and Elvena Weinmeister; and siblings - Berneice Winter, Melvin (Piper) Weinmeister, Johnny Weinmeister, Luella Childs, and Helen Avery.

Robert's legacy lives on in the hearts of his beloved wife, Lillie; his cherished sons, Channing Marc Weinmeister, Scott Lidy Weinmeister; grandchildren - Kalen Weinmeister, Taylor Weinmeister, Ashley Richardson, Andrew Silva, Charlene Trimmings, Danielle Silva, Giselle Weinmeister, Aubreana Weinmeister, Bella, Weinmeister, Emily, Weinmeister, Olivia Weinmeister, Sophia Weinmeister, Clayton Weinmeister, Camden Weinmeister, Dawson Miller, Kaden Miller, Jackson Miller; and all those fortunate enough to have known him.
