Robert Double, 73, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born on July 16, 1952 in Roswell, New Mexico to Kenneth and Elnora Double, Robert served in the United States Army for six years before being honorably discharged in 1975. He began his career as an apprentice Glazier and went on to become a master of his trade. He made his mark on buildings in Oklahoma City and beyond, leaving a legacy built by steady hands, skilled work and a keen intellect.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather and fisherman, Robert appreciated the beauty in everyday life. Whether it was a tranquil morning spent fishing on the river, or a lively gathering of family to celebrate a birthday, he found great joy in simple moments. He also never shied away from a challenge, showing grace, patience and understanding even in tough times. He'll be remembered for his strength, wisdom, love and quick-witted sense of humor.
Robert is survived by his wife, Marilyn Double, and his daughters, Kelly Moak and Amy Double-Trent, as well as two grandchildren, all of Oklahoma City, OK. His family will hold a celebration of life in his honor on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 1 p.m. It will be a private ceremony.
His family would also like to thank the caregivers and staff of INTEGRIS Health Hospice House. Their compassion and support made his last days comfortable.
