Rhappy Alamag Talaoc

His heart beat to the rhythm of the ever-present music, and his feet moved in perfect concert with the lyrics. His love for his family provided the perfect environment for everyone to thrive and grow in their love for one another. Anyone who knew him experienced Rhappy as a light that pierced through the darkness of their worry, doubt, and fear.

Rhappy Alamog Talaoc was born in the Batangas Islands in the Philippines on September 10, 1979. He lived in the Philippines until he came to the United States when he was 16 years old. He grew up in Midwest City graduating from Midwest City High School in 1998. He started work as a dishwasher at what was then Midwest City Regional Hospital. He entered the work-study program there at the hospital, and his dedication and hard work quickly elevated him in the ranks of responsibility and leadership. For the past 11 years he served as coordinator for the staff of one of the operating rooms and was so effective that the surgeon he worked with would not perform surgery when Rhappy had scheduled time off. He was the recipient of mountains of praise from his co-workers and especially Dr. George Matook who mentored Rhappy for several years. The ocean was always on his mind, but the lake would often satisfy his need to be near the water.

Rhappy is survived by his wife Staci and their children, Joey, Emili, Jalyn and Makai, his mother and stepfather Meddy and Jimmy Hunt, his wife's mother and father-in-law Bill and Liz Chilton, his father Raymundo Talaoc, his wife's father Steve Sander, his sister Charity Talaoc and her daughter Jade, and many friends and co-workers who will miss him and his huge smile.

A memorial celebration of Rhappy's life will be held Thursday, November 18th at Ingram, Smith, and Turner Mortuary at 201 E Main, Yukon, OK 73099, at 5:00 PM.
