Rebecca Lynn Wintjen passed away on January 16, 2026, in Yukon, OK at the age of 72.
Rebecca was born to parents Pauline McManemy and Edward Stefl on October 6, 1953 in St. Louis, MO . She grew up in Wood River, Illinois alongside her brothers David and Stephen. Rebecca graduated with the Wood River High School class of 1971.
Rebecca met Mark Wintjen at church and they were married after high school December 5, 1972. Together they raised two children whom they loved very much Jeremy Christopher and Ryan Joseph. She was the primary provider for her family, coached her boys little league teams, taught her boys how to cook and bake, and enjoyed many outings to the movies with them. Rebecca loved being Grandma to her only grandchild Nate. She passed on her teaching of baking to him and loved telling him stories about his family.
Rebecca worked as a teachers aid for Pleasant Hill Elementary School in Illinois for a number of years. As a curious mind her self, she had a passion for working with children. She raised her family on 30 acres which she worked hard to maintain, volunteered to serve others without expecting recognition, and worked hard to provide for her family. Rebecca also had a passion for animals and enjoyed having them as pets throughout her life.
Rebecca was known for her outgoing personality and being a loyal friend. She leaves behind a legacy as a caring mother, woman of faith, and friend to all who will be dearly missed.
