A man of God with a kind servant’s heart and faithful spirit, Phillip Wayne Farrill, entered Heaven’s Gates on April 18, 2022, at the age of 84 years. “Phil” was born in Okemah, OK to parents Henry Charles and Eva Sarah (Watson) Farrill on August 20, 1937. He grew up in Okmulgee with his 2 brothers and 6 sisters, where he graduated from Okmulgee High School. Phil entered the United States Air Force where he faithfully served his country for the next 21 years until his retirement as a Sergeant in 1976. Following his military retirement, he owned and operated “Phil’s Upholstery Shop” from 1978 – 2008 in Okmulgee.
Phil met the love of his life, Barbara, in 1970, and they were married on August 20, 1971, a special day for their entire family. Phil was a wonderful Dad to their 6 children, and loving Pawpaw to 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Phil’s life changed in 1982, when he re-dedicated his life to Christ and was filled with the Holy Spirit. From then on, he devoted the remainder of his life to serving the needy, lost, and hopeless, and always looked for ways to bless others with acts of kindness. Phil and Barbara joined Crosstown Church in Okmulgee in 1985 and served as a Deacon from 2001-2016. Along with their best friends Jack and Lois Kolakowski, Phil and Barbara served in the “He’s Alive” Prison Ministry for 23 years. Men and women were saved, transformed, and encouraged in prisons across all of Oklahoma. Phil and Barbara continued to encourage their own community through Monday night prayer meetings at their house for many years. Phil’s life will be remembered for the eternal impact he had on so many people and the love he gave to all he met.
