Penelope Lee Horner

Penelope Lee Horner beloved daughter, cherished friend, and a light too bright for this world, passed away on April 18, 2026, at just 19 years old.
Born on December 27, 2006, in Seguin, Texas (Guadalupe County), Penelope, known to those who loved her most as Nelo, Sweet Pea, Baby Girl, Dollface, and Bird Legs, filled every room and every screen with warmth, laughter, and a spirit that simply cannot be forgotten.
Penelope had a gift for finding beauty in quiet things. She foraged flowers and plants to press and dry, and spent countless hours crafting, gaming, and connecting with friends from all corners of the globe through Discord. A devoted gamer, she found genuine joy and community in both PC and console gaming. Those lucky enough to hear her sing during Minecraft events know her voice was something truly special.
She adored her cat, Mew, and always made sure there was a place beside her at night.
At 19, she was just beginning. She was curious, creative, and deeply connected to the people she loved whether they lived next door or a world away. She leaves behind a wide and devoted community of friends who knew her through headsets and chat windows, and who will carry her laughter with them always.
Penelope is survived by her devoted parents, Christopher and Amanda Horner; her Great Aunt Donna; her beloved second and third cousins: Crystal and her son Isaac; Hope and her children Audrey and Colin; Isaiah and his wife Chantel and their sons Rylan, Greyson, and Hardyn; and Jerrica and her children Myah, Rumor, and Davin. She is also survived by her Uncle Matt and his wife, and treasured family friends known to her as Aunt Lisa, Uncle Gabe, and Uncle Jason.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Richard and Susan Horner, and great-grandparents Al and Fay Bowe; her maternal grandparents, Peter and Deborah Herman, and great-grandparents David and Dorothy Boutwell; her uncle Chris Herman; her cousin Bella Herman; her second cousin Michael McDowell; and beloved family friends known to her as Aunt Jody and Uncle Steven. What a reunion it must be.
Though her time on this earth was far too short, we rest in the peace that surpasses all understanding, as promised in Philippians 4:7. We trust that God is holding her now in ways we cannot fully see. Romans 8:38-39 reminds us that nothing in all creation not death, nor life, nor things present, nor things to come can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Isaiah 40:31 promises that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, and we cling to that promise as we grieve. And in the words of Jesus in John 11:25, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live."
While we miss her with every breath we take, we find deep solace in knowing she is no longer in pain and that every burden she carried has been lifted. She now rests in the complete peace that only God can give. Her beautiful voice now joins the great chorus of Heaven, singing in the presence of the One who gave her that gift.
Penelope, our Nelo, our Sweet Pea, our Baby Girl, you were so deeply loved. The world is quieter without your voice in it, and your family and friends will carry you with them always.
