Myra Lyle Obituary

Myra Mae Lyle, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 under the loving care of her eldest daughter and with her son at her
bedside. Myra was born at home on her parents farm in NE Oklahoma April 12, 1934.
She was a dynamo from the word go! She excelled at school and graduated as
Valedictorian. While she had scholarship offers, she chose to marry her high school
sweetheart and was excited to become a mom to Stephen Keeth McCullough (Laura)
and Katherine Anne Sizer (Don). When she decided that her marriage wasn't what she
had hoped it would be, she did the brave, unthinkable thing for the time and left with her
2 small children to begin life anew. As she had in school, she poured all her intelligence
and hard work into starting over, and secured a job at the local Air Force Base,
Richards-Gebaur, MO. There she met Airman Charles Howard Lyle, who would be the
love of her life,. They would marry shortly after and add one more daughter to the
family, Patricia Sue Lyle (Scott). Their marriage would last for 42 year years, only
ending when Charles died in 2003.
Myra was a working mom her entire life. She educated herself on business, learned
accounting and how to keep books, and managed the household as well as the family
finances. She opened her own dress/formal store and successfully ran it for many years
before retiring to spend more time with Charles.
In her spare time, she was active in the Order of the Eastern Star, rising to lead her
local chapter in Del City as well as to leading the entire order for the State of Oklahoma
as Worthy Grand Matron. She could memorize and deliver her fraternal work as well as
write and deliver her own speeches flawlessly.
Myra was the rock of the Lyle family. When she and Charles lost their home of almost
30 years to the May 1999 Oklahoma tornadoes, she was undaunted. They moved to
Yukon where Myra became a regular at the United Methodist Church and at Cici's
Pizza, loving them both!
Myra not only leaves behind her 3 children and their spouses but also 3 grandchildren
(Justin Lyle Taylor, Kristyn Melanie Ersteniuk, Christopher Keeth McCullough) and 3
great-grandchildren (Masyn Taylor, Sydney Taylor, Lucy Taylor). She will be missed by
all.
