Michael Wayne French, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 2, 2026. Born in Oklahoma City on October 20, 1966, and raised in Norman, Oklahoma, Michael lived a life of 59 years with a profound love for knowledge.
After graduating from Norman High School, Michael dove into a career as an IT Specialist. He was not just known for his professional skills; he was also a fantastic chess player, often challenging anyone brave enough to take him on. Michael had a keen intellect and a relentless curiosity, making him a passionate believer in the wonders of science fiction. He cherished his adventures across the universe in the worlds of Star Trek and enjoyed the thrill of competition through spirited games of Frisbee golf.
Michael leaves behind a rich legacy in his adored children:Caroline Cortes, Dylan and Ariel French, Brandon French, and Taylor and Rachel French, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Elden and Rhalic; father: Reynolds French, and brother: Jim French. He is also survived by his devoted father. Michael was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ruth French, whose memory he held dear throughout his life.
As we gather to celebrate Michael's life, we invite family and friends to come together for a service that will honor his spirit and shared memories on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 at 10 AM at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary (201 E Main St, Yukon, OK 73099).
