Marvin Alvin "Breezy" Wendel, known for his warm heart and unwavering acceptance of all, passed away in his home in Yukon, Oklahoma on August 15, 2023. He was born on April 23, 1948, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Breezy was a proud member of the armed forces, serving in the Navy from 1972 - 1976.
Breezy had a passion for culinary arts and gardening, his hands nurturing both flavors and veggies throughout his life. His culinary creations were a reflection of his creativity, each dish telling a story of his love for the flavors of life. His garden was a testament to his nurturing spirit,as he cultivated beauty from the earth and shared its bounty with those around him. Breezy's greatest gift was his ability to embrace people from all walks of life. His blended family,spanning across different backgrounds and circumstances, stood as a testament to his boundless acceptance and love.
He is survived by his wife, Delphia "Delly" Wendel of the home, his brother George (Susie), Great Bend;His children, Joseph Wendel, Ellinwood; Jacqueline Wendel, Branson, MO; Amber (Chad) Petz, Ellinwood; Renee (Todd) Nugent, Atchison; and Lynell (Chad) Manning, Dallas, TX, who will carry forward his legacy of compassion and understanding. He is also survived by his grandchildren Joe Wendel, Jr., Shannon (Landon) Cook, Kyler (Cammie) Castillo, Lauren and Cole Petz, Sierra, Jalen and Sidney Scott, Lauren and Brady Manning, along with five cherished great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambros and Cynthia Wendel.
Breezy's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a tapestry of love and acceptance that will continue to inspire and guide us all. As we mourn the loss of Breezy, let us also celebrate the profound impact he had on our lives and the world around him.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Memorials can be made to The American Heart Association or the American Kidney Association. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing to us all.
