Marvin Parker Obituary

Marvin Riley Parker Jr passed away on February 23, 2026, in Norman, OK at the age of 81. He was born to parents Elsie and Marvin Parker on May 2, 1944 in Taylor, Texas. Marvin grew up in Burnet, Texas alongside his siblings Susan, Stephen, Donald, and Joanie where he attended school graduating from Burnet High School. He went on to attend Tarleton State University where he earned his Masters Degree in Business. Marvin moved to Oklahoma after accepting a position with Tinker Air Force Base. After over twenty years of service, Marvin retired from Tinker and spent his retirement enjoying life and playing as much Tennis as possible. Marvin met Melba Heard after moving to Oklahoma and the two found their forever partner in one another. They shared over forty years of marriage together spending their time enjoying road trips across the United States. The two were blessed with their only son Scott Riley who was their world. He taught his son the value of hard work and the importance of managing finances well. Marvin even passed on his talent of working on cars and playing tennis to him. Throughout Marvin's life, he was known for his willingness to help others. He was happiest on the computer dealing with investment stocks, traveling the open road, playing tennis, and being in his garage with a paint gun in his hand. He had a special interest in geology as well. Marvin was a man others could count on, who loved his family in every way. Later in life, Marvin moved back to Burnet, Texas where he reconnected with his high school sweetheart Patricia Seidensticker. The two shared a special companionship and enjoyed time with their tennis group until her passing. Marvin is a loving father, brother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. Marvin Riley Parker Jr is preceded in death by his wife Melba; parents Elsie and Marvin Parker; and sister Joanie Parker. Marvin is survived by his son Scott Parker and wife Melissa; sister Susan Schroeder; brother Donald Parker and wife Debora; brother Steven Parker and wife Kaye; along with him extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
