Marion E. Murrell, a dedicated Navy veteran, analytical engineer, and beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on April 14, 2024, at Southern Plaza Memory Care in Bethany, OK, at the age of 95. Born in Champaign, IL on August 24, 1928, Marion was a man of remarkable achievements and unwavering integrity.
Having served his country during World War II and the Korean War, Marion exemplified courage and honor as a Disbursing Clerk 2 (DK2) in the Navy. After his military service, he pursued a successful career as an Analytical Engineer in the aerospace industry, making significant contributions at North American Rockwell, now known as Boeing.
Marion will be deeply missed by his loving family, including: his son George Murrell; daughter Linda and husband Keith Starry; stepson Alan and wife Debbie Anthony; stepdaughter JoAnn Conley; grandson Brendan and wife Page Murrell; granddaughter Kristy Smith; grandson Luke and wife Ashley Starry; grandson Rick and wife Lisa Anthony; grandson Keith Anthony; grandson Kenny and wife Whitney Conley; granddaughters Erika and Taylor Anthony; granddaughters Courtney and Claire Conley; great grandchildren Kinley, Adler, Charlie Smith, Winston Murrell, Barrett and Lance Starry.
He will also be missed by his very special people Prapasri Jorgensen, Sheryl Gaskins and Penny Collier. Marion was preceded in death by his wife Aurelia 'Ebbie' and his parents Elbert and Stella Murrell.
A celebration of Marion's life and legacy will take place at the Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa on April 25, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Following the service, Marion will be laid to rest with full military honors as a tribute to his service to the nation.
Marion's dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his family and country will forever be remembered. His selfless service and profound impact on all who knew him will be a cherished part of his enduring legacy. May his memory be a beacon of light and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
