Margaret Oretha (Rupe) Langley, a resident of Mustang, Oklahoma since 1960, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 7th, 2024 at the age of 97. Oretha was born in Dela, Oklahoma on February 14, 1927, to Jim and Myrtle Rupe and was the 2nd child of 6. Oretha married Ben Langley on October 17, 1944, and they had 4 children.
An avid student of the Bible, she wrote lessons and sermons for Sunday School utilizing her extensive notes and she was a prayer warrior. She also volunteered for Mexico Missions where she would read the Bible with children and even assisted in the delivery of a baby during her visit. Oretha lived every day with the purpose of making sure that we would all be together in heaven.
Oretha enjoyed being with people, whether at church, a bible study group, the senior center, or even at the grocery store. She was generous and would give what she had to the church family, her own family, and sometimes even strangers. In her later years, Oretha took great pride in her flowers and yard, for the neighbors to enjoy.
She is survived by: brothers, Bill Rupe and wife Wille of Sonora, California and Floyd Rupe of Oakdale, California; son, Benny of Yukon, Oklahoma; daughter, Ruby Brands and husband Paul of McKinney, Texas; and 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-children. Oretha was preceded in death by: her husband Ben; daughters Margaret Smith and Ruth Campbell; and grandson Christopher Smith.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary in Yukon, Oklahoma.
