Loretta Orene (Adams) Rhodd-Harp was born on November 26th, 1934 to Cletice and Joseph Adams in Saint Louis, Oklahoma. She was the second of 4 children, and was often fondly referred to as "Dutch", a nickname given by her father because she spoke so quickly as a child, a trait she passed down to several daughters and granddaughters.
Loretta passed away peacefully in the early hours of April 21st, after spending the evening surrounded by loved ones, and finally reunited with her beloved Harvey. Loretta leaves behind her children: Danetta and Jim Tull of Oklahoma City, Eddie and Regina Myers of Austin, Texas, Orvil and Mary Myers of Guthrie, OK, Terry Myers of Guthrie, OK, Barry and Laura Myers of Oklahoma City, Larry and Sue Gann of Florida, and Kathy Martin of Oklahoma City. Loretta was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, parents, sisters Wanda and Linda, brother Lonnie, and niece Melissa.
Loretta will be best remembered for her fierce and loving spirit, devotion to her family, and contagious laughter. Loretta lived life to its fullest, dabbling in careers that she found passion in: from her floral career, years in the service industry to owning a thrift shop on Main Street in Guthrie. She was never afraid to work hard.
Loretta loved to serve her community. She spent years volunteering with the VFW in Guthrie. Organizing events for the children in the town, she could always be found with a grandkid in tow making sure events went off without a hitch. Loretta adored her children and grandchildren: she never missed an opportunity to be there for them. She encouraged all of her "kids" to live their lives to the fullest, to have a voice, and made sure they would always have a safe place to land with her. Loretta spent her life loving and leading by example; teaching everyone to never give up no matter what and to love deeply, without hesitation. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her dearly.
Loretta's life will be celebrated with a viewing on Wednesday, April 28th from 4 - 8 PM at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary in Yukon. Her service will be held Thursday, April 29th at 2 PM at Ingram, Smith & Turner with a burial to follow at Frisco Cemetery.
