Lorene 'Goggy' (Potter) Shepherd

Lorene Shepherd, a woman deeply devoted to her faith and family, went to be with her Lord Jesus on July 12, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She lived a life marked by unwavering faith, selflessness, and a profound love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Born on May 6, 1935, in Yukon, Oklahoma, Lorene graduated from Yukon High School in 1953 before embarking on a successful career as an accountant from 1954 to 2013. The only thing she loved more than numbers was her family and her beloved pets.

In 1955, she married the love of her life, Kenneth "Dale" Shepherd, with whom she shared countless cherished memories until his passing in 2010. Throughout her life, Lorene was renowned for her exceptional cooking skills, especially her famous chicken and dumplings and pumpkin pie. She was always excited to invite many people into her home to share these delicious meals.

Lorene found solace in watching birds from her expansive dining room window and delighted in sharing stories of her life's adventures. Her grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as Goggy, held a special place in her heart.

Lorene is survived by: her devoted son, Jim Shepherd, and his wife Sherry of Granbury, Texas; their son, Joe Shepherd; daughter, Debbie Minshall; her sons Matthew Minshall of Lubbock, Texas, and his wife Carly; and Evan Minshall of Blanchard, Oklahoma, and his wife Brittany.

She is also survived by: her great-granddaughters, Brecklyn and Preslee Minshall; and great-grandsons, Briar and Witten Shepherd. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Nathan Shepherd, and many other beloved family members.

A Visitation with friends and family will br held on Monday July, 15, 2024 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. A Graveside service will be Tuesday July, 16, 2024 at 10:00am at the Yukon Cemetery.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her but takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her Savior, Jesus Christ, in eternal peace.
