Linda Ann (Spence) Fontenot

Linda Ann Spence Fontenot passed away on May 29, 2024, in Portland, OR at the age of 82. Linda was born to parents Carl G. Spence and Mildred Culpepper Spence on November 6, 1941 in Abilene, TX. She was raised by her grandmother, Hattie Culpepper, in Texas, graduating from Abilene Senior High School in 1959 and receiving a Bachelor of Science from Hardins Simmons University in 1962. She worked as a teacher and administrative assistant.

Linda met the love of her life, Bobby Owens Fontenot, through a coworker friend who happened to be Bobby's sister in law, Deloris and they were married for 49 years. Linda became mom to Bradley Spence Fontenot in 1971 and Brian Scott Fontenot in 1975. Her greatest joy arrived in 1996 with her first grandson, Zaniel; she cherished the times they shared.

She loved God, her family, food, and a good mystery, especially if it was British! Linda was an active churchgoer at Council Road Baptist, volunteering with the Whiz Kids program until moving from OKC to Portland, OR in 2023 to live with her son. She enjoyed traveling and keeping up with friends on facebook where she posted a daily Bible verse. She lived in Texas, Dubai, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Oregon. Her kindness was evident to all who knew her and if she really agreed with you, she would wink her brilliant blue eyes. Linda was loved dearly and will be missed by all who knew her.

Linda Fontenot is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Carl R Spence, husband Bobby Fontenot and son Bradley Fontenot. Linda is survived by son, Brian Fontenot and wife Melody, grandsons Zaniel Fontenot, and Jathan Pate. Linda's life will be celebrated on July 13, 2024 at 2pm at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary. She has already been laid to rest with Bobby at Yukon Cemetery.
