Leta Sue Turner, 64, of Yukon, passed away on May 7th, 2022. Sue was born on September 6, 1957 to Harold James and Jean Claire (Fry) Lawson. She grew up on her family's farm southwest of Yukon and graduated from Yukon High School in 1975. In her young adult years, Sue took great pleasure serving as a volunteer in multiple organizations, including the Mayview Extension Club, Helping Hands and substitute teaching for Yukon Schools. Her main priority, however, was staying home to take care of her family. Her dedication to family was honored when she was awarded Canadian County Homemaker of the Year. Sue was a member of West Point Christian Church in Yukon and held multiple church offices throughout the years and also served as Church Deaconess. Spending time with family, playing the piano, singing, cross stitch and country dancing at Czech Hall were her favorite activities that brought her the most joy.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Amy Chase and husband Andy, along with their daughters Abby and Anna of Jones, OK; her daughter, Teri Wyatt and husband Michael of Piedmont, OK; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jean Claire Lawson; brother, Robert Paul Lawson; sister, Linda Jean Lawson; and husband, James Turner.
Viewing will be held at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary in Yukon on Friday, May 13th from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Yukon Cemetery at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 14th. The memorial service will follow at West Point Christian Church at 10 a.m. with a reception and opportunity to visit with the family afterwards.
