Leon Norris Coats Jr. passed away peacefully at home in Yukon, Oklahoma on August 30, 2025, at the age of 80.
Leon was born to parents Gaylen and Leon Coats Sr. on April 25, 1945 in Fort Worth, Texas. He grew up in Ponca City, Oklahoma where he attended school. He went on to join the military out of high school.
Leon married young and from that union was blessed with two children Le and Becky.
Throughout Leon's life, he was known for his love for fishing and his gift for woodworking. Leon also was a devoted OSU Cowboys fan, loved playing cards, and raising his vegetable garden.
Leon met Linda Wilson in 1999 while working and before long, the two found a love that was meant to be. The two were married December 29, 2000 in Dallas, Texas. They enjoyed being together and often enjoyed fishing and gardening. Through lifes ups and downs, they stood by one another through it all.
Leon will be missed by all who knew him and loved him dearly.
Leon is survived by his wife Linda B. Coats, son Le Coats and wife Bambi; daughter Becky Hull; grandchildren Cortney Moffitt, Mackenzie Hull, Connor Coats and wife Amber, and Garrett Coats; great grandchildren Noah Moffitt, Madison Moffitt, and Emilee Coats; brother Hugh Coats; sister Paula Alberts and husband Albert; stepchildren Richard Hartley and wife Sherry, Bobby Hartley and wife Pam, Ronnie Hartley, and Angela Wilson; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents Gaylen and Leon Coats, Sr.
