Kunjoonjamma Kurian

Kunjoonjamma Kurian was born on January 17, 1939 to late Mr. and Mrs K. and Achamma Idichandi, Polachirackal Vadakkethalakkal family in Mavelikkara, Kerala, India. She was the sixth child out of eight children. She received her primary education at Mavelikkara and in 1964, she was united in marriage to George Kurian (Thampi), Pathicheril house, Thalavady. They were blessed with two children, Shirley and Shaji. They were married for 21 years, until her husband departed this earthly life in 1985.
A loving mother and home maker, Amma dedicated her life to her family and lived to care for them. She also had the privilege of caring for her in-laws till their last breath. In 1998, Amma moved to USA to join her son in Oklahoma and lived with him since then.
Amma underwent many trials and tribulation during her time on earth, but always had unwavering faith in God. Amma loved the Lord with her whole heart. Every single day, morning, and evening, she spent hours reading Bible and Praying for all those who are sick and needy. She always cared for others.
Our dearest Amma was called to eternal glory on January 25, 2021. She was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, a loving wife, dedicated mother, caring grandmother, sister, aunt, and an amazing, simple human being with unconditional love for everyone. It pleased the Lord to call her home and we rejoice that this separation is only temporary. We have the hope that she is now resting in her Savior’s presence and we look forward to seeing her beautiful spirit upon our heavenly reunion.
Amma is survived by her siblings Lillykkutty and Kunjumol, Children Shirley and her husband Ebby Abraham, and Shaji and his wife Bincy Shaji. She is also survived by her grandchildren Aaron and his wife Teenu, Anpu and her husband Binsu, Anoop, Sherin, Shauna and Shelby and her great grandson Christen.
