Kolt River Macdowell, who left us far too soon at the age of 14, passed away on June 21, 2026. He was born on June 5, 2012, in Yukon, Oklahoma. He was a cherished son, a vibrant spirit, and a source of joy to everyone. River attended Yukon Public Schools. He just completed the 8th grade and was preparing to begin his 9th grade year.
The youngest of three, River brought energy, humor, and a one-of-a-kind spirit to his family and friends. He enjoyed skateboarding, gaming, fishing, baseball, soccer, anime, baking, and riding his 4-wheeler. Those who knew River will smile remembering his habit of misplacing the key to his 4-wheeler, a small quirk that became of the many stories his family will treasure forever. He also loved negotiating just about anything, especially when money was involved. River's favorite color was blue, and he had a special appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He loved drinking Dr. Pepper, enjoyed trips to Chick-fil-A and Buc-ee's, and never passed up a good steak. Whether spending time outdoors, gaming with friends, or enjoying one of his favorite meals. River lived life with enthusiasm, and those who loved him will forever remember the joy, personality, and laughter he brought into their lives.
River is survived by his parents, Michael and Kjristi Macdowell; his siblings, Kooper Kellis and "Carrie", and Matalyn Macdowell and "Trinity"; grandparents, William and Kathleen Kellis; aunts and uncles, Art and Irene Macdowell, Bill and Tammy Macdowell, Jeff and Christy Warren, Jaafe and Megan Kellis, Joe Kellis, Kensey Mortensen, Jake and Kristen Kellis, Juddson Kellis, Jerhett Kellis, Kayla and Joseph Burris, Kloe and Clifford Crowell, Kaimee Kellis; and many cousins, some of whom are more like siblings and the Clement family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mac and Bonnie Macdowell; uncle, William J. Kellis; and aunt, Kendra Kellis.
A time of visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary. A funeral service honoring River's life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary. Following the service, River will be laid to rest at Frisco Cemetery.
