Kochittyadathu Korah (Mathew) Mathew

Kochittyadathu Korah Mathew, known as Kunjunju to family and friends, was born on March 24th, 1928 in Velloor, Kerala, India. He was the only child to the late Korah K Mathew and Aleyamma Korah. In 1948, after completing high school, he married the love of his life, Sosamma (Thankamma), and settled down as a farmer. The Lord later blessed them with two beautiful daughters, Leelamma and Ponnamma. During his lifetime, Kunjunju spent 57 years of his life in Kerala and the remaining 36 years in Oklahoma. Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting or being in the same room with him knew he was a God-fearing and servant-hearted man. He loved serving the Lord and helping people in various ways. In India, he was very involved in the Manarcad St. Mary's Jacobite Church. In Oklahoma, he was also very involved with St. George Syriac Orthodox Church. Besides spending time at church, Kunjunju loved to travel, spend time with both his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as always making sure he had the best garden around. Kunjunju, known as "Appachen" to all, will be remembered for his kind heart, his jokes and his smiles, and always having candy on hand to share. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Kunjunju is preceded in death by parents Korah K Mathew and Aleyamma Korah. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Sosamma Mathew (89); children, Leelamma & Othera P (Sunny) Jacob, Ponnamma & Jacob (Geigy) Mathew; grandchildren: Sonia & Jacob Thomas (OK), Tony & Reena Jacob (TX) , Tonia Jacob (OK), Wesley & Sara Mathew (OK), Brinley & Jasmine Mathew (MD); great-grandchildren: Anjalina and Ethan Thomas (OK) Liam, Lillah, Logan, and Liberty Mathew (OK) Audrey and Xavier Jacob (TX).
