Kevin Fowler Obituary

Kevin Fowler was called to his eternal resting place on August 30, 2021 at the age of 64. He was born to parents Floyd and Mildred Fowler on December 18, 1956, in Oklahoma City, OK. The second to youngest of Floyd and Mildred's five children, Kevin was an active, ornery, "live wire" boy. The first thing he did when he came home from school was kick off his shoes and run outside. He spent more time outdoors than he did inside at home. Kevin could be found laying pennies on the railroad track before the train came by, sporting a cowboy hat in his early teenage years, and accidentally stepping on broken glass by the pond. Graduating from Yukon High School, he set off to find his independent way in life. Life lessons were not always easy, as he learned to navigate as a single Dad for a time. Kevin held multiple jobs to support his family, and inadvertently taught lessons of hard work, persistence, and the importance of family. He stayed close with his siblings and they enjoyed music together, from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin to old country music.

Kevin's meticulous personality provided a talent for art in high school, a successful career as an inspector for meat processing plants in the state of Oklahoma, maneuvering a fork lift for his "retirement" job as a dock worker, and a skilled chef known to create special recipes for family holidays and get-togethers. Kevin and Nancy shared 30 years of marriage and memories together. Adventures in the outdoors was frequent: fishing, traveling, and camping were his absolute favorites. Memories include cozy cabins with card games like Farkle or dominos in Broken Bow, a cruise with Eric to the Yucatan peninsula that he dreamed of experiencing again, river cruises in New England, or just the simple pleasure of touring various lighthouses along the coast. When the grandchildren arrived, a whole new world was opened to Kevin. He spent countless hours playing pool and video games on the X-Box with them, teaching them croquet or how to throw a horseshoe, cheering for OU or the 49ers, and even competing in a paintball game with them! The good memories shared will comfort his family and friends.

Kevin Fowler is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Mildred Fowler, brother Mark Fowler and sister Gina. He is survived by his wife Nancy Fowler; children Brice Fowler, Eric Ryan, Patrick Ryan, and Alicia Fowler; grandchildren Kolby, Brayden, Chase, Kori, Kira, Gavin, Lincoln, and Olivia; siblings Arliss and wife Sherry Fowler, and Garey Fowler and wife Geneva; and in-laws Kathy Reynolds, Terri Williams, Lori Brittain, Carla Brittain, and Karen Thibert and husband Don; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
