Kenneth Lamar (Potts) Potts

After a life well-lived, Kenneth Lamar Potts passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, in Yukon, Oklahoma, at the age of 85, surrounded by the love of his family. Kenneth was born on January 18, 1941, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Mary and William Potts.

Kenneth was a proud Navy veteran, serving four years stationed in Vietnam, following in the footsteps of his father, William "Tye" Potts. Upon returning home, he pursued further education, earning an associate degree in business from El Reno Jr. College. His career blossomed as he took on the role of Production Control Manager at Seagate, where he dedicated many fruitful years before retiring.

Ken is remembered lovingly by his devoted wife of 59 years, Karen (Lanferman) Potts. Together, they built a life filled with adventures and precious moments. They raised 2 children, Shelley and Chris, whom they loved very much. His spirited support of his children's sports, as well as their travels together, are a cherished part of his family's memories.

During his life, Ken found joy in many simple pleasures. He loved spending weekends at the family lake home on Lake Eufaula, where he often fished for crappie alongside his children and grandchildren, laughing with the locals, and soaking in the beauty of nature. An aficionado of relaxation, he would eagerly anticipate each spring when his daffodils bloomed at the lake, a true sign of the seasons.

He also treasured the friendships he maintained with his classmates from the El Reno High School Class of 1959, often gathering for lunches filled with laughter and shared memories.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Mary M. Potts and William "Tye" Potts.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Potts; his daughter, Shelley Potts Bosler and her husband, Bart, of Spring Hill, Kansas; his son, Chris Potts of Yukon, Oklahoma, and his partner, Monica Dyer of Bucyrus, Ohio; his beloved grandchildren, Parker Bosler and Kendal Potts; his sister, Anna Butler of El Reno, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews who will continue to honor his memory.

Kenneth will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of family, and the quiet joy he found in the world around him. His legacy lives on in all who knew and loved him.
