Karen Judith (Clark) Barnes

Karen Judith Barnes reunited with her beloved husband of 33 years on September 15, 2022, as she passed away in Yukon, OK at the age of 82. Karen was born on June 3, 1940 in Menominee, MI to parents John Clark and Evelyn Olsen and grew up with 7 siblings. She met the love of her life, Howard Barnes, when he responded as a police officer to a store where Karen worked when it was robbed in 1985. They married the next year in Las Vegas and were inseparable until his death in 2019. Karen and Howard enjoyed traveling to golf tournaments, trying their luck at casinos, visiting grandkids, and listening to music. They loved doing life together, even if it was simply sitting on the back patio. Karen adored her only son Steven, and they were very close. Karen will be missed by all who knew her and loved her dearly.

Karen Judith Barnes is preceded in death by her husband Howard Barnes; son Steven Green; parents John Clark and Evelyn Olsen; and siblings Joyce, Roger, Clayton, John, June, Carol, and Lee. Karen is survived by step-children Kevin Barnes and Kimberly Heaton; grandchildren Rachel Damgen, Timothy Heaton, Hayden Barnes, Sawyer Barnes, Sarah Heaton, Paul Heaton, Rowdey Barnes, Merain Barnes, Veronica Grimes, and Chris Bruehl; niece Michele Swiatnicki; and many other family members and friends.

Karen's life will be remembered with a Gathering of Friends and Family at 5 PM on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Ingram, Smith and Turner Mortuary. Services are under the direction of Ingram, Smith and Turner Mortuary in Yukon, OK.
