Joseph Summers Obituary

On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Joseph Wayne "Uncle Joe Joe" Summers, age 42, left this Earth and was reunited with his Dad in Heaven. Joe was born on December 9, 1983, in Chadron, Nebraska, to Allen and Sharon Summers.

Joe was raised in Crawford, Nebraska, where he attended Crawford Public Schools alongside his five siblings Allen Jr., James, Lewis, Caleb, and Jessica. From a young age, Joe was known for his strong will, big heart, and protective nature. He was the kind of person who looked out for others, especially his family, and his bond with his brother Lewis was one of laughter, mischief, and lifelong friendship. Together, they created countless memories, always finding ways to bring smiles to those around them while being partners in crime.

Above all else, Joe's greatest pride and purpose in life was being a father. His children Tatiana, Candayce, Josie, Freedom, Liberty, Zerachiel, and Mordecai were his world. He worked tirelessly to provide for them and to give them a life filled with love, stability, and meaningful memories. Everything he did was with them in mind. He wanted his children to not only be cared for, but to feel deeply loved and to carry those memories with them forever.

Joe also shared a special bond with his nieces and nephews Kendra, Kylah, Kamryn, Kayden, Kage, Jasmine, Jade, Dominic, Sayra, and Caleb Jr. each of whom held a unique place in his heart.

Joe spent his entire life working hard, first alongside family and later in the oilfield. He was known as a tough, dependable man with an unshakable work ethic. No matter the circumstances, Joe showed up, pushed through, and gave his all every time. He believed in leading by example, and through his actions, he became a mentor and a loyal friend to many.

Joe gave his life to the Lord as a teenager, but in recent years, Joe's faith began to grow in a purposeful way seeking a deeper connection with God. His growing faith became an important part of who he was, fueling his desire to bring his children and others closer to God.

Joe will be remembered for selflessness, his strength, his loyalty, his humor, and most of all, his love for his children, his family, and the life he worked so hard to build. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Joe is survived by his children, Tatiana (Liberal, Kansas), Candayce, Josie, Freedom, Liberty, Zerachiel, and Mordecai (Bridge Creek, Oklahoma); his mother, Sharon (Whitney, Nebraska); his siblings, Allen (Norfolk, Nebraska), James (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), Lewis (Wayne, Oklahoma), Caleb (Sidney, Nebraska), and Jessica (Sidney, Nebraska); numerous nephews and nieces; aunts, uncles, and cousins and Ashley. Joe was preceded in death by his father Allen Summers; grandparents Lewis and Audrey Summers and Catherine Woods; uncles, Wayne Summers, Robert Summers, and Jeffrey Summers; and aunt, Vicki Deans.
