John William Jarvis, 82, was welcomed in the presence of Jesus on Monday, May 20th by peacefully exiting this world surrounded by family. Born and raised in Houston, MO and graduating high school in 1960. John met the love of his life and soul mate in Sylvia Stockard and the two would embark on a 63-year marriage. The two raised their sons in central Illinois where John had a long and prosperous career at Caterpillar.
John will always be remembered for his gentle nature, being incredibly bright, humble, unassuming and had a knack for making everyone comfortable and welcome. Loving a great book, fishing or bird watching, nothing made John happier than being with his family on "Thursday Night Dinners". John is preceded in death by his parents and eldest son Gregory.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; son Ted and daughter-in-law Renee Jarvis of Yukon; grandson Brandon Jarvis of OKC; granddaughter Kristen Ramsey and husband Jason of Yukon; grandson Weston Jarvis and wife Charleston of Yukon; 5 great-grandsons Jaxon, Hutch, Bryant, Oakley and Emerson; his best fur-friend Boston Terrier – Molly; and countless cousins, nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
Memorial service will be held on Friday June 14th at 10 o'clock am at Yukon Church in Yukon, OK.
