Jo Ann Graham, 80, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on January 4, 2021. She was born to parents Elsie Kuntz Cable and Earnest Cable on December 14, 1940, in Chickasha, OK. She attended Fletcher High School and graduated in 1958. She went on to earn her teaching degree at the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, OK. Jo Ann married James Allen Graham on September 7, 1960 and they raised two children: Catherine Rochelle and James Albert.
Jo Ann served as a first grade teacher for over 40 years at Yukon Public Schools and Saint John Nepomuk Catholic School. One of her greatest honors was being named Teacher of the Year. She had a passion for Yukon history and was involved as a volunteer docent for the Yukon Historical Society and loved dressing in historic period costumes for the Chisholm Trail Festival, churning butter and teaching the children about their history. Jo Ann will be missed by all who knew her and loved her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband James, grandson Garrett Vincent Coble, sister Martha Lee, and parents Elsie and Earnest Cable.
Those who wait to see her again are her daughter Cathy Coble and husband Vincent, son James Graham; grandchildren Blake, Austin, Patricia and David; and her brother Robert.
A service to honor Jo Ann Graham’s life will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2020, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Yukon. Graveside services will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK.
A donation of a hard back children's book may be made in honor of Jo Ann. Books may be brought the the funeral home during visitation or the church for her service. Donations will be delivered to her great grandchildren's school, Dewar Elementary.
