Jim Dinsmore, age 76, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025. Born on October 4, 1948, Jim brought joy, laughter, and warmth into the lives of everyone he met. Known for his outgoing nature, generous heart, and sharp sense of humor, he had a unique gift for making strangers feel like lifelong friends.
Jim had a deep passion for cooking, painting, and music, finding delight in the melodies of Frank Sinatra, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, and Simply Red. He enjoyed cooking complex Chinese dishes for dinner guests, and his paintings hang on the walls of many of his friends and family. His creativity, zest for life, and attention to detail were evident in everything he did, leaving lasting impressions on all who knew him.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Marion Dinsmore. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberley Baum, and her husband James, as well as his grandchildren: Katelyn, Roxy, Sammy, and Titan. Jim is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Tish Dinsmore, his brother, Craig Dinsmore, and Craig's wife, Judy, and his sister Robi Colbert. He held a special place in his heart for his "niecelets," Amy Banu and Ashley Goelz, who were like daughters to him. Ashley's husband, JB Goelz, Jim's nephews, Casey Colbert and his wife Melissa, and Scott Colbert and his wife Lori, also carry fond memories of him.
Jim's warmth, wit, and generosity touched countless lives. Though he is deeply missed, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, details will be provided when available.
