Jennie (Medina) Nievar

Jennie Nievar passed away on January 6, 2023, in Oceanside, San Diego at the age of 100. Jennie was born to parents Nicolas Medina and Viola Medina on October 7, 1922 in Deming, NM. She grew up in New Mexico and went to college and earned a BA. She met her spouse Paul Nievar while they were both in the service and they were married for 62 years. Throughout Jennie's life, she was known for her fun loving nature and love for travel and did so side by side with her husband. She worked as a Secretary for many years in Alaska until retirement. She was one of the first women to join the United States military, starting in the Women's Army Auxiliary and later on going to the Air Force. Jennie will be missed by all who knew her and loved her dearly.

Jennie Nievar is preceded in death by Husband Paul Nievar, Mother Viola Medina, Father Nicolas Medina, also her brothers Jim, Joe, Robert, Henry and Nick. Jennie is survived by Niece Viola Medina, her sister Viola and numerous family members of the Medina's and Nievar's.

Jennie's life will be honored on Friday, March 17th, 2023 with visitation from 10 AM - 2 PM, and service beginning at 2 PM at Ingram, Smith, and Turner Mortuary. Burial will follow the service at Frisco Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ingram, Smith and Turner Mortuary in Yukon, OK.
