James (Jim) R. Harris, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished family man, passed away on January 30, 2024, at the age of 67. Born on June 9, 1956, in Oklahoma City, OK, to parents James and Dorothy Harris. Jim lived a life characterized by love, laughter.
Jim was a man of many talents, but his dedication working for OG&E always shone through. For over 26 years, he faithfully served OG&E, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and expertise. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his commitment to his family.
Family gatherings were an integral part of Jim's life. He took great joy in hosting and cherishing these moments, bringing loved ones together with his warm hospitality and genuine personality. Nothing pleased him more than firing up his barbecue grill and treating everyone to some BBQ.
Jim was a proud and loving father to his daughter, Jennifer Harris. Their bond was unbreakable, and he cherished their time together. He found great joy in being a doting grandfather to Ashley, Ciara, Ivy, Quentin, and his great-granddaughter Juliette. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he found true fulfillment in witnessing them grow.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Ross, and her husband, Josh; stepsons Bobby and Brian; brother-in-law, Jarvis Wright, and sister-in-law, Marilyn Harris; and a very special friend Karen. James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia Harris; his brother Mark Harris, sister Paula Wright, and his precious granddaughter, Ruby.
A Funeral Service to honor Jim's life will be held on Friday February 9th at 2:00pm at Ingram Smith & Turner Mortuary. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them as they say their final goodbyes. Jim will be laid to rest at the Frisco Cemetery.
