Jack Wayne Francisco, a beloved husband, father, Papa, great-grandpa, and esteemed educator passed away on January 30, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on May 7, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jack dedicated his life to the betterment of others, both as a cherished family man and a respected superintendent in the field of education.
He married Linda Kay Francisco on July 16, 1967. They spent 57 years together. He was a proud father, whose nurturing spirit left a lasting mark on his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched during his lifetime as a mentor and leader in education. Jack's enthusiasm in working with young people began as a teacher, principal, and education superintendent, as well as working with Pathfinders and serving as the summer camp director at Wewoka Woods.
A veteran who served his country with honor, Jack embodied the values of dedication and compassion. He earned a Master's of Arts and Education Degree at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, and utilized his knowledge and experience to foster a positive learning environment for students and teachers alike. Jack enjoyed working outside in his garden.
Jack is survived by his devoted spouse, Linda Frick Francisco; children, Jeremy (Ellen) Francisco, Rachelle (Darren) Randall, Sharla (Dan) Braun; siblings, Sharon Barrett and Carla Thorne; grandkids Seanna, Jarret, Nathan, Ethan, Austin, Conner, and Madeline; three great-grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by parents, LaMont Jr. and Barbara Francisco; sisters, Diana Francisco and Janice Francisco; brothers, Lamont Francisco III and Ronnie Francisco.
As we gather to celebrate his legacy, we take comfort in the memories we hold dear and the impact he made on our lives.
In celebration of Jack's life and contributions, the family will hold a public viewing on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Canadian Valley Seventh-day Adventist Fellowship, where friends and family are invited to gather to honor and remember Jack's life. Jack will be laid to rest on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Union Township Cemetery Nekoma, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Educational Endowment Fund at the Oklahoma Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
