Helen Gertrude (Fite) Fertic

Helen Gertrude (Fite) Fertic entered this life on February 18, 1944, to Julius H. & Lela G. “Gertie” Fite in Damon Valley, Oklahoma. She entered into rest on April 15, 2020, at the age of 76, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Helen was very knowledgeable and involved as the family historian. She loved cooking and could open a library with her collection of cookbooks! She loved gardening, whether it be the planting of her and her husband Knute’s annual vegetable garden, the beautiful yard of flowers, or the greenhouse full of plants they maintained. Another joy of hers was the many “hobo” cats which they spoiled. She also enjoyed “Sparkle” and other koi & fantail goldfish who reside in their Koi pond.

Helen will be greatly missed by her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents Julius & Lela; brothers Garland, Hook, Floyd & TJ Fite of Wilburton, OK; Bud of Hartshorne, OK; and sisters Beulah Carter of Camas Valley, OR and Johnnie Dill of Wilburton, OK.

Helen is survived by her husband of 59 years, Knute; their three children: daughter Penny (Fertic) Sullivan & husband Chris of Oklahoma City, OK; sons Khris Fertic of Oklahoma City, OK; Kevin Fertic & wife Tammie of Newcastle, OK; grandchildren Brandon Raley of Oklahoma City, OK, Elizabeth (Raley) Jolin & husband Wesley of Palm City, FL, Matthew Raley & wife Larissa of Yukon, OK, Ashley Fertic of Oklahoma City, OK, Logan Fertic of Oklahoma City, OK, Emily Fertic of Oklahoma City, OK; and great-grandchildren Jordan & Jaidyn Raley of Yukon, OK, and Mabel & Ryne Jolin of Palm City, FL.

A private family service will be held to honor her life.
