Harvey Gene Botchlet

Harvey Gene Botchlet entered Heaven's Gates on May 10, 2023, in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 86. Harvey was born to parents Clyde Charles and Ida Maurine Botchlet on June 6, 1936, in Cordell, OK. Along with his 5 siblings, he learned important life-lessons of both dedication to his family and hard work ethic on his family's dairy and cotton farm in Cordell. Following high school graduation, he met the love of his life, Julia Brown, and they devoted themselves to each other's friendship, love, and partnership in life for 65 years. Together they raised 4 children while living in Bethany, OK, whom they loved very much.

Harvey's value of hard work created a successful career spanning over 40 years of owning and operating Masonry Service, Inc. He cared for multiple contractors and workers over the years, serving most of Oklahoma. He even made his children work for him for a time, passing along the same life-lessons he learned as a kid.

When Harvey wasn't working or spending time with his family, you could find him outdoors. He took care of cows and horses, went fishing, helped at the farm, and restored antique cars with his sons. Harvey was always fixing something and had a soft spot in his heart for animals, keeping his dogs and cats close to him throughout life. Harvey's legacy will be passed on to all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him and loved him dearly.

Harvey Gene Botchlet is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Ida Botchlet, daughter Toya Botchlet, and siblings Charles Botchlet, Lloyd Botchlet, Jerry Botchlet, Harold Botchlet, and Maureen Buckner. Harvey is survived by his wife Julia Botchlet; children Cody Botchlet, Monica Botchlet, and Tad Botchlet; grandchildren Sharity Farrow, Chad Botchlet, Brandon Botchlet, Megan Stone, Baylee Kastner, Landon Botchlet, and Reese Botchlet; great-grandchildren Matthew Farrow, Tristan Botchlet, Adam Farrow, Jacob Farrow, Caiden Botchlet, Faith Farrow, Creed Kastner, Ava Botchlet, Khloe Kastner, Maxley Stone, Allie Kastner, Bandit Botchlet, Break Stone, Braxton Stone, and Sutton Botchlet; and other extended family and friends.

Harvey's life will be remembered on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 2 PM at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary in Yukon, OK with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ingram, Smith and Turner Mortuary in Yukon, OK.
