Gregory Carl Olson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and US Army Veteran passed away on May 15, 2026. Born on March 1, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Greg's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and dedication. He grew up in Oklahoma City, graduating from Western Heights High School in 1966, where he laid the foundations for the spirited life he would eventually lead.
From his early years, Greg was a passionate outdoorsman, spending countless hours in the embrace of nature. He sought adventure in every season, finding joy in the thrill of hunting duck, deer, and turkey, as well as fishing. His love for sports extended to the baseball diamond, where he exhibited the same enthusiasm and unwavering spirit that he carried throughout his life. Notably, he was also a master at the pool table, earning respect and admiration from friends and family.
Greg shared over 23 beautiful years with his beloved wife, Sharron Olson, a partnership marked by mutual support and deep affection. Greg had two sons, Brian and Garret, who continue to carry forward the values and lessons instilled by their father. He embraced the roles of father and grandfather with unparalleled joy, creating a legacy filled with laughter and connection. With a career that spanned over 42 years at the Federal Aviation Administration, Greg was known for his commitment and diligence through the work he accomplished.
Greg is survived by his wife, Sharron; sons Brian and wife Maria Olson, Garret and wife Christina Olson; stepdaughter Sarah and husband Aaron Londan; stepson Jason Tinsley; and grandchildren Champayne and husband Caleb Horn, Brendon and wife Kelsey Taylor, Sawyer, Beckett, Grady, Holden, Cruze, Chase, and great-grandchildren Penelope, Troy, and Brecken. He is also survived by his brother, Mike Olson. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Oneta Olson.
As we celebrate Greg's remarkable life, we invite friends and family to join us in honoring his memory. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary (201 E Main St, Yukon, OK), where we will gather to share stories and reflect on the joy he brought to our lives. A funeral service will follow on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the same location, where we will come together to pay our final respects.
After the service, Greg will be laid to rest at Frisco Cemetery, where he will find peace in the beauty of nature he so deeply loved. Though we grieve the loss of our beloved Greg, we also celebrate a life rich with love, laughter, and cherished memories. May his spirit guide us, and may we hold him close in our hearts today and always.
