Gloria Jean (Alger) Lamb

Gloria Jean Lamb passed away on June 16, 2022, at the age of 74 years. She was born October 17, 1947, in Hutchison, KS to John and Ilo Alger. She grew up in Inman, KS, helping her parents raise rabbits, playing with friends, and going to school. After graduating from High School, she held various jobs and proved herself to be a loyal and hard worker.

She met her husband, Allen when she was 18 years old, and he was 23 years old. One day she told him "We're going to get married." He asked her, "Why would we want to do that?" She replied, "Well, we both know who we are and neither one of us is going to change, so we might as well get married." So, 57 years ago, they did just that, on April 8, 1965.

They moved to the Oklahoma City metro are in 1972. Gloria's love for all things puppy never waned. She fed and loved on Dachshunds, Poodles, and Pomeranians. For Gloria, it was impossible to keep a straight face in the presence of one or more of her puppies. She also did cross stitching and scrapbooking and loved playing board games with her friends.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents John and Ilo Alger. She is survived by her husband, Allen Lamb, and their son, Michael Lamb; also, her siblings, Janet Balzer of McPherson, KS, and Mike Alger and his spouse, Kelly of Hutchison, KS.

A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary in Yukon, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Mustang Animal Shelter.
