Gina Marie (Decker) Denette

Just because she couldn't control what life threw at her, didn't mean she couldn't control how she handled it. Gina knew how to embrace the pain and burn it as fuel to live the life she chose to live. She was a "we can do this" kind of woman. She knew that each of us has the power to make it through the challenges of life...and so she did.

Gina Marie Denette was born to Ted and Jorene Decker, June 21, 1972, at Fort Dix in New Jersey. Like many children of armed forces parents, she moved quite a bit including a stay in Germany and Pennsylvania, and finally settling in Lawton, Oklahoma. Gina graduated from Eisenhower High School in Lawton going on to study at Cameron University. She overcame breast cancer, and winning that fight only strengthened Gina's courage.

Gina was a mother who loved her children dearly. When you looked into this mother's eyes, you knew it was the purest love to be found on earth. She was smart, energetic, fun-loving, a mama bear, a political junkie, she hated spiders but loved being a part of PTA, a cheer mom, and part of the Football Quarterback club. Her optimism allowed her to see the silver lining in every situation.

Gina leaves behind her mother and father Ted and Jorene Decker; her husband Michael Denette; sons Joseph Decker and Andrew Crawford; daughter Isabella Denette; three granddaughters Braelynn Decker, Mattilyn Bailey, and Sutton Bailey; and sisters Stephanie Roberts, and Jennifer Kiel.

Gina is loved with a love that escapes all words. Missed with a grief that transcends all tears. We will miss her love, her laugh, her joy, and kind spirit. She touched our lives in ways we never could have imagined. She is too well-loved to ever be forgotten.

Public viewing will be held from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Saturday October 23, 2021, at Ingram, Smith, and Turner Mortuary, 201 E Main Street Yukon, Oklahoma. Services will be held that same day at 6:00 PM also at Ingram, Smith and Turner Mortuary.
